This Module will focus on organizational behavior, the decision-making process and community interaction and leadership. To the Florida Chapter members:I am very pleased to report that FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate has appointed Teresa Scott of the City of Gainesville, Florida to the FEMA National Advisory Committee. APWA recommended Teresa for consideration and stressed the importance of a public works presence and perspective on this advisory group. She will be here in Washington in mid-February for a series of NAC meetings. As you may know, Teresa has been a very active member of our Emergency Management Technical Committee, including serving as chair in the past. Our sincere congratulations to Teresa. The most substantial of these are the Technical Committees that deal with specific public works areas. For decades, the APWA Florida Chapter has administered scholarships that have helped hundreds of students to achieve their dream of a college education. Through the vision and diligence of past Executive Committees, and the dedicated effort of our current Executive Committee, the Florida Chapter has slowly grown an endowment to guarantee our ability to continue this highly successful program. The Southeast Road Safety Audit (RSA) Forum and Road Safety Audits for Local Governments Workshop are Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) - sponsored events, and will be held in conjunction with Florida's quarterly Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST) Coalition Meeting, which is supported by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Southeast Road Safety Audit Forum September 21-22, 2009:  The SE RSA Forum will focus on common emphasis areas among the states including current progress, RSA success stories from around the country, and ways to advance implementation of RSAs in the southeast region. This Forum will also serve as a peer exchange among the participating states to facilitate discussion and highlight successful RSA programs and policies.
