On behalf of the Corporate & Community Training Institute (CCTI) at Indian River State College (IRSC) and the American Public Works Association Florida Chapter we wish to congratulate the first graduating class of the Florida Chapter Public Works Institute who graduated April 9, 2009!
Seventeen professionals completed 90 hours of the requisite 3 training modules to earn their graduation honors and recognition from the American Public Works Association (APWA). As an added bonus, graduates also received Continuing Education credits and were eligible to receive 6 Indian River State College credits!
The APWA Florida Chapter has partnered with Indian River State College to provide leadership, managerial and operational training for aspiring public works employees who are looking to enhance their skills and advance their careers through a comprehensive program that covers everything from solid waste management to media relations!

Thank you to the Florida Chapter and to the public works agencies that have made this important training investment in their employees. In order to make the program accessible to all public works agencies in Florida, IRSC is also offering the Public Works Institute on-line! This is the first on-line Public Works Institute program in the country and allows students to have all of the benefits of classroom instruction (including homework, teacher/student interaction and networking) without the necessity of travel.
